Tom Herman played wide receiver for California Lutheran University from 1994 to 1997. He had thirteen knee surgeries while at Cal Lutheran. (Actually, he was recruited by UC Davis and was redshirted there his freshmen year, then he went to Cal Lutheran, then back to UC Davis, and then back to Cal Lutheran.)
Tom started coaching at Texas Lutheran as their wide receiver’s coach after college. (He has held some very interesting jobs, which you can read more about here ---> Before coaching, Tom Herman once got fired from Subway for gorging on pastrami.)
Tom has been in coaching since he graduated college. He was the offensive coordinator for the 2014 Ohio State Buckeye National Championship team. This success lead to an offer and job as head coach for the Houston Cougars. At Houston, he had a 22-4 record. On November 27, 2016, Herman was hired as the new head coach at Texas. Let’s see how he does!
