NUMBER ONE
Ohio State beat Michigan 30-27 in a double overtime thriller with this win the Buckeyes moved to within ten victories to even out this series. (Ohio State has 48 wins, 6 ties, and 58 loses vs. Michigan.) Michigan dominated this series for the first twenty or so years and the Buckeyes have been playing catch up ever since, however it is no longer unrealistic to think that the Buckeyes can even this series out at some point.
However, more importantly the Buckeyes are in the College Football Playoffs.
To some this may not seem right as the Buckeyes are not going to the Big Ten Championship Game, however they just beat the third ranked team in the country and will stay ranked second. That is just the way it is.
Wisconsin could help the committee by beating Penn State Saturday, which lost both to Ohio State and Michigan, because of that the committee could easily leave them out of the Playoffs.
NUMBER TWO
Alabama continues to roll with an easy win 30-12 over Auburn. They won’t be tested until the playoffs.
NUMBER THREE
The Big-12 played their playoff game on September 17, 2016 against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Oklahoma lost 45-24, which will be a leading factor in keeping the Big 12 out of the playoffs.
SO!
It looks like Alabama will be the number one seed and Ohio State will be the number two seed going into the playoffs. Baring a major upset Clemson should be the number three seed. Who will take the number four seed? Very hard to tell. Too much football to be played, but here is our prediction:
1. Wisconsin beats Penn State, but stays out of the playoffs.
2. Colorado beats Washington and thereby makes it into the playoffs with three top 25 victories in the last three games.
3. Western Michigan is not mentioned as the fourth team in the Playoffs. The MAC just isn’t there yet to be in consideration for this.
