Sedrick Shaw holds the all-time rushing record at Iowa with 3,908 yards. Sedrick played from 1993 to 1995. He rushed for a 4.9 yards-per-carry average and 31 TDs over his career.

Ladell Betts is the second leading all-time rusher at Iowa with 3,686 yards. He rushed for a 4.4 yards-per-carry average and 25 TDs over his career.

Both backs played in the NFL, however, Ladell had a much better career. Sedrick was in the league for three years and only rushed for 258 yards. Ladell on the other hand had a nine-year career. Ladell rushed for 3,326 yards, 4.1 yards per carry and 15 TDs: a solid NFL career.
