Running back Ki-Jana Carter from Penn State was the first pick of the 1995 NFL Draft. Ki-Jana was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ki-Jana rushed for 2,829 yards and 34 TDs during his college career. His yards per rushing average were 7.2, quite impressive. His junior year he was a consensus All-American and Rose Bowl MVP.

Upon the advice of Joe Paterno, Ki-Jana decided to enter the NFL draft and forgo his senior year at Penn State. He was the first player selected in the 1995 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ki-Jana played in the NFL for eight seasons. Over his career he started 14 games, rushed for 1,144 yards, and scored 20 touchdowns. His career was injury plagued.

The NFL was a great career for Ki-Jana if it is measured in salary, he made $7.125 million in signing bonus alone as a rookie. Beyond a doubt he is a first overall pick bust.
