Charlie Strong played defensive back for the University of Central Arkansas from 1980 to 1983.
Upon graduation he became a graduate coaching assistant for the Florida Gators and has been coaching ever since.
Charlie was a fast riser to the ranks of the coaching echelon. He has been head coach for Louisville and Texas. His overall head coaching record is 53-37. He had success at Louisville, but was unable to replicate that at Texas where he was fired from last year. On December 11, 2016, Strong was named as the fourth head coach of the University of South Florida. Let’s see how he does!
