Quarterback Jeff George from the University of Illinois was the first pick of the 1990 NFL Draft. Jeff was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.
Jeff started his career with Purdue but transferred after a coaching change to the University of Illinois. At Illinois he passed for 4,995 over a two year career and won the Sammy Baugh trophy given to the nation’s best passer.
George played in the NFL for 13 seasons. George played for whole bunch of NFL teams:
Indianapolis Colts (1990–1993)
Atlanta Falcons (1994–1996)
Oakland Raiders (1997–1998)
Minnesota Vikings (1999)
Washington Redskins (2000–2001)
Seattle Seahawks (2002)

George passed for 27,602 yards and 154 touchdowns over his NFL career. Overall, he had a nice career in the NFL, but not one worthy of the first overall pick.
