Defensive End Ed ‘Too Tall” Jones from Tennessee State was the first pick of the 1974 NFL Draft. Too Tall was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.

Too Tall was two-time All-American and led his team to the Black College Football National Championship in 1971 and 1973.

Too Tall played in the NFL for 15 seasons. He was a three-time Pro-Bowler and helped his team win Super Bowl XII. He didn’t play football in 1979 as he left to try a boxing career, but he came back in 1980.
