Alabama is ranked sixth in winning percentage amongst NCAA FBS Schools with 71.9%.
However, Alabama has 8 victories and 1 tie forfeited by the NCAA during the 1993 season and 21 victories vacated by the NCAA between the 2005-2007 seasons. If these were counted Alabama would have a winning percentage of 72.4% and would be ranked third (assuming Ohio State’s vacated victories are not counted).
If Ohio State’s vacated victories are also counted, then Alabama would be fourth with a winning percentage of 72.24% vs. Ohio State’s 72.45%.
We must say the NCAA sure does make things confusing!
