Defensive tackle Steve Emtman from the University of Washington was the first pick of the 1992 NFL Draft. Steve was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

Steve played two years at Washington. His junior year his team won the National Championship as well as he won the Outland Trophy, Lombardi Award, was the Bill Willis Award winner and the UPI Lineman of the Year. That year he was also a consensus All-American and finished fourth in Heisman voting.

Steve choose to forgo his senior year and entered the 1992 NFL draft where he was the first overall pick. He had a six-year career in the NFL first for the Colts, then the Dolphins and the Redskins. His career was marred by injuries.

Steve is in the College Football Hall of Fame.
