The Baylor Bears are ranked 4th in the AP coming into the 2015 season. Here is some raw data:

2014 Team Rankings
#7 Overall in the AP
Points scored per game: 48.2 (1st of 128)

Nine starters returning on offense
Nine starters returning on defense

Returning player stats (class rank is this year’s and data is for 2014)
Shock Linwood - RB - Junior – Rushing: 1, 252 yards, 5.0 yards per carry, 16 TDs, Big 12 All-Conference
Corey Coleman – WR – Junior – Receiving: 64 receptions, 1,119 yards, 17.5 yards per reception, 11 TDs – Big 12 All-Conference
Spencer Drango – Center –Senior – All-American and Big 12 All-Conference
Shawn Oakman – DE - Senior – Tackles: 37 solo, 52 total, 19.5 for a loss, 11 sacks – All-American and Big 12 All-Conference
Orion Stewart – Safety - Junior - Tackles: 53 solo, 81 total – Pass defense: 4 interceptions and 7 passes defended

Baylor is looking strong. The big question mark is first year starting QB Junior Seth Russell. If he has the talent, the Bears can make a run. Seth will have three games to “warm up,” as the first three opponents are rather weak. Their biggest obstacle will be second ranked TCU on November 27th, and more than likely the winner of this game will be the Big 12’s candidate for the playoffs.
