Urban is 2-2 vs. Nick Saban. Urban’s overall record is 143–26 with three National Championships. Saban’s overall record is 178–59–1 in college and 15–17 in the NFL with four National Championships. Saban is twelve years older than Urban.

So yes, right now Saban is more accomplished. But overall, who will win the long term battle?

We have to believe Urban Meyer. Urban is building a juggernaut in Columbus and will have them perennial playoff contenders.

Saban will continue to have very good teams, but the SEC is being hit with parity amongst the top teams. His dominance there is waning.

For Urban, on the other hand, the Big Ten is getting better. The Buckeyes under Urban will remain the team to beat in the Big Ten for the duration of Urban’s coaching career.

All of this, along with Urban’s age gives Urban the edge long term. We see Urban as moving ahead of Saban in the next four years and then never looking back.
