Quarterback Peyton Manning from the University of Tennessee was the first pick of the 1998 NFL Draft. Peyton was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

At Tennessee Peyton won the starting job as quarterback midway through his freshmen season. He threw for 11,201 yards and 89 TDs during his college career. His senior year he was a consensus All-American and he won the Davey O'Brien Award, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, and the Maxwell Award. He finished second in Heisman voting to Charles Woodson.

Peyton played in the NFL for 17 seasons. In 2011 he needed spinal fusion surgery which resulted in him losing all of the 2011 season due to this injury Manning was released, but was signed by the Denver Broncos where he made a spectacular recovery. He would play four years for the Broncos and would go out a Super Champion.

Peyton Manning is a two-time Super Bowl champion and went to two other Super Bowls. He is a five-time NFL MVP, a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, and was the XLI Super Bowl MVP. He holds a plethora of passing records some of the most notable:

  • Most career passing yards: 71,940
  • Most career touchdown passes: 539
  • Largest career TD-INT differential: 272


He is one of two quarterbacks to have beaten every single NFL Team (Brett Favre is the other one). Peyton will most certainly be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame.
