Archie Griffin holds the all-time rushing record at Ohio State with 5,598 yards. Archie played from 1972 to 1975. He was a four-year starter. He rushed for a 6.0 yards-per-carry average and 26 TDs.
Ezekiel Elliott is the second all-time leading rusher at Ohio State with 3,812 yards. His yards-per-carry at 6.7 and 39 TDs are better than Archie’s.
Archie’s record is pretty safe, however. While phenomenal running backs in college can enter the NFL Draft three years after they finish high school, in Archie’s day they had to wait a year longer. It is possible Archie will remain the all-time rusher at Ohio State for at least this century.
