Shaun Hill played quarterback for the Maryland Terrapins. He threw 19 touchdowns over his two years of playing for the Terrapins.
It was announced that for this Sunday’s NFL game Shaun Hill will be the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings due to an injury to Teddy Bridgewater. Shaun Hill was undrafted coming out of college, but has managed to stay in the NFL since 2002 (except for one year where he played football in Europe). He is primarily a backup.
When Shaun graduated High School he was offered a college scholarship as a punter for the Pitt Panthers, instead of accepting this Shaun spent two years playing quarterback for Hutchinson Community College. His junior year he accepted an offer and went to play QB for the Maryland Terrapins.
Shaun Hill’s senior year he threw for 2,380 yards, 13 TDs, and nine interceptions. He also ran for 309 yards and 7 TDs. His team earned a trip to the Orange Bowl, which they lost 23-56 to Florida, but they finished ranked 10th in the country with a record of 10-2.
Shaun Hill not being offered a scholarship and undrafted, but still making a career in professional football just shows what determination and hard work can achieve. Over his NFL career, which is not over, he has managed to accumulate wealth worth around 17 million dollars. Not bad for someone not offered a scholarship and undrafted!
