Quarterback Bobby Garrett from Stanford was the number pick in the 1954 draft. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns.

Garrett was an All-American at Stanford and also played defensive back at Stanford.

The Browns had drafted Bobby not knowing he had a stuttering problem. He never played for the Browns who traded him to the Green Bay Packers. The Packers also didn’t know of his stuttering problem. He only played in nine games for the Packers and only played one season in the NFL.

It is pretty crazy to consider the teams didn’t know he had a stuttering problem from our vantage point, where they know everything about a player before he is drafted.
