Quarterback George Shaw from the University of Oregon was the number pick in the 1955 draft. He was drafted by the Baltimore Colts.
Shaw was an All-American in both football and baseball.
He played eight years in the NFL. Over his career played for the Colts, Giants, Vikings, and Broncos. He is more famous for being replaced as a started by Johnny Unitas when he was a Colt and then later Fran Tarkenton when he was a Viking.
