Defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson from the Ohio State University was the first pick of the 1994 NFL Draft. Dan was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Dan was redshirted his freshmen year as he was overweight; he weighed 348 pounds, he lost 48 of these pounds and went on to play defense his next two season with the Buckeyes. His junior year he was a consensus All-American and finished the season with 44 tackles and 13 tackles-for-loss.

Dan decided to forgo his senior year and entered the 1994 NFL draft, which was the smart move as he was chosen first overall.

Dan played in the league for 13 seasons with the Bengals at first and then the Redskins, Lions, and Dolphins. Over his career he played in 195 games, started 182, had 388 tackles, 54.5 quarterback sacks, five interceptions, and six forced fumbles.

Dan never made a Pro Bowl nor played in a Super Bowl. He had a very nice NFL career and made good money over that span, but most would say he was a bust as a first overall pick.
