Howard Jones won eight national championships during his career while at these schools: Yale (1), Iowa (1), and University of Southern California (6). We have used every major selector that is officially listed in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision Records1. He has no Consensus National Championships 2 as those were only awarded from 1950 onward.

Since there was no BCS championship game or playoffs during his time period, we are not going to judge which selectors are correct or not because no one knows; you would have to play the game. To get to a fairer method of selecting champions, put in your vote for your preferred playoff format: Vote!
