Wide Receiver Dave Parks from Texas Tech was the first pick of the 1964 NFL Draft. Dave was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback Jack Concannon from Boston College was the first pick of the 1964 AFL Draft*. Jack was drafted by the Boston Patriots.

In 1963 Dave Parks was an All-American and was 2nd in the Southwest Conference in receiving touchdowns.

Dave was a three-time Pro-Bowler and played in the NFL for ten seasons. He is in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Jack Concannon led the NCAA in passing touchdowns with 15 of them in 1962.



Jack was picked 15th in the NFL Draft and signed by the Philadelphia Eagles, instead of the Boston Patriots. Jack had a 12 year NFL career, although not a stellar career as he only threw 36 TDs, but 63 interceptions.
