The Spartans are ranked 5th to start the season but could easily have been ranked higher. A returning starting QB is a huge advantage. An early season test will be when they play Oregon in the early part of the season; however, they could lose this game and still be in contention to make to the playoffs. The real key to their season will be whether they can beat the Buckeyes?
