March Madness vs. a 16 Team College Playoff; which would be more awesome? (Titans Clash 67)

March Madness is great, and we enjoy it. The College Playoffs were unbelievable as well. We don’t know about you, but we seemed to pay much more attention to the end of the college football season this year. It sure is great when four teams vie for the National Championship and not two. We also think it is appropriate to settle things on the field and not leave it to the polls. It is awfully hard to really know how good teams are unless they get to meet face to face on the field.

We want to see a 16 team playoff by 2016. Wouldn’t that be awesome? Would a 16 team playoff rival or surpass March Madness? We are speculating it would surpass March Madness, as football is the nation’s national sport. What do you think? Please comment via the button below.

  • 1. The first college football game was played on November 6, 1869 between the New Jersey Tigers (Princeton) and the Rutgers Queensmen (Scarlet Knights). Rutgers won 6-4.
  • 2. The first Bowl Game was played on January 1, 1902. It was the Rose Bowl, and the Michigan Wolverines beat the Stanford Cardinal 49-0.
  • 3. The first BCS National Championship game was played on January 4, 1999. The Tennessee Volunteers beat the Florida State Seminoles 23-16
  • 4. The first College Football National Championship was played on January 12, 2015. The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Oregon Ducks 42-20.
  • 5. When will the first 16 game National Championship game be played? Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for this!
