Chuck Long holds the all-time passing record at Iowa with 9,671 yards passing. Chuck played from 1981 to 1985. He passed for a 8.7 yards-per-pass average, 70 TDs, and 46 interceptions. His TD per Int average was pretty consistent throughout his college career.

Chuck’s best year was his senior year in 1985 when he led his team to 10-1 record heading into the Rose Bowl; unfortunately, they lost to UCLA 45-28 and thereby finished 10-2.

Where is he now...?

Long tried coaching college football and went 9-27 as head coach for San Diego State University with the distinction of losing twice to Division II schools. Presently, he is the receivers coach for the Norman High School Tigers in Norman, Oklahoma.
