OHIO STATE NEEDS MICHIGAN - WTF?

This is correct. This is one of football’s oldest and bitter rivalries and the other team loves to see the other one lose. However, until they meet, Buckeye fans worldwide have got to hope and cheer Michigan keeps winning.

Why? Since Ohio State lost to Penn State it opens a scenario where all three teams could be tied at the end of the season. The first tie breaker is the record of the three teams, which would leave Penn State out with two loses and Michigan and Ohio State with one loss. Ohio State would win the tie breaker with Michigan in this scenario.

So, to summarize to make it to the Conference Championship Game Ohio State needs:

1. Michigan to go undefeated until they play Ohio State
2. Win all the rest of their games.
3. What Penn State does is not important in this scenario.

Jim Harbaugh has Michigan rolling. Urban Meyer will get the Buckeyes back on track. Both teams should go undefeated the rest of the way until their showdown. This is setting up to be a classic Ohio State Michigan game.
